Come Away Home streaming: where to watch online?

It all culminates in a small town music fest where all of humanity is healed. There are a few mildly amusing hijinks along the way, but the story just never worked for me. It's always tempting to give at least a mediocre rating for a movie produced with solid actors, but Hollywood does put out more than a few uncareful products. I actually saw this film multiple times and it was better each time. This is one of those stories that you can see year after year and still relate to.

People of all ages and backgrounds can relate to it. Great film to see with your kids or grandparents. This is one of those films you will want to watch over and over. The story was touching without being the least bit sappy. I am amazed by what can be done what a small amount of money and a great deal of talent.

But still, that doesn't take away from the beautiful themes and overall morals of the story. Although this movie does not have the "Hollywood" flash; it does have a great story. Living on the island where this was filmed, does give a little added incentive to see, but I truly enjoyed this. The film does resemble a simpler 1980's movie. If you don't see it at the movies is is a definite rental.

She calls her best friend Holly and asks her to investigate Greyhound bus schedules back to New York. Grandpa tries his best to capitalize on any opportunity he can find to bond with his granddaughter, but Annie is reluctant. How could this man who is six times her age be anything remotely near the fun she could have had in New York with all of her friends? Intensely bored and fed up, Annie makes a plan to run away from the Island by motoring off in Grandpa's boat to the Greyhound station.

Being a parent in this day and age, it is hard to find such a feel-good film that the whole family can watch together. The movie makes us all look at the relationships we have in our own family and how different generations try to relate to one another. It tugs at your heart and is filmed in a great location. While she had planned to spend her summer in New York, Annie Lamm's (Jordan-Claire Green) parents Carol and Gary force her to spend the summer with her grandfather Donald in Hilton Head, South Carolina. When summer comes to the end, she learns her parents intend placing her grandfather in a retirement home, and she has to convince them otherwise.

I watched this movie based on some good ratings and Martin Mull. A 12 year-old city girl is foisted on her country-living grandfather for some bonding time. She is bored stiff and despises her grandfather whom she hasn't seen in years. In five minutes of film, her outright hatred turns into admiration and a deep abiding love. As things progress, her mother's 40 years of resentment toward her dad melt away in a record 30 seconds of filming, leaving the entire family healed and loving one another. Something in the Spanish even takes away the strains in the parents' marriage.

It was a pleasant night out with no violence, sex, or bad language but a movie that goes back to traditional values and a simpler life. And, yes, there are some "issues", such as rebellious teen, too busy parents, anger at the dad-grandfather character, but these represent things we can all relate to, and hopefully work out. Anyone who has ever visited Hilton Head, S.C. While short-lived in theaters, it would be a great TV movie. To our very pleasant surprise, "Come Away Home" is a beautifully produced movie with one of the most outstanding story lines I have seen in quite some time.

Grandpa Donald and Barney are people that you feel like you could have met or known at one time. Its just very easy to get caught up in the movie and be taken away for a bit, which is what I look for in a good movie. You can't help but be moved and in the end come away feeling good after this movie. COME AWAY HOME is a surprising feel good movie for the whole family.

Nothing edible is in the fridge, and only big-band and Perry Como records sit by his prehistoric stereo. Annie's summer plans of parties and boys are dashed in an instant--Grandpa's house has no TV, no computer, and a swimming pool half-full of brown, brackish water with turtles living in it. His life consists of napping, doing crosswords, and spending time with an old codger named Barney with whom he trades endless tall tales.

I was a bit skeptical going in to see this movie, being that it has a G rating and was presented as a family movie genre film. What you have here is just a good movie for the sake of being good, with real characters and deluge. Annie is a very realistic girl for her age and her behavior isn't sugar coated.

This was a truly delightful movie which I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a wonderful family film that brings the not so distant family a little closer together. "Come Away Home" is a very heart felt comedy that will have you laughing one minute and sobbing the next. This film is a rendition of what families truly are in today's society. It was refreshing to see a film with truth and honesty in how relationships between family members truly exist. This movie also brings into light a beautiful location, that many know to be as beautiful as it was captured on the "big screen".

So nice to see a movie about family ties and what really matter in life! The setting was perfect for this movie and the music was just right to blend with what the movie has to say about family. I watched this because it was filmed in South Carolina where I grew up.

My biggest criticism however would be with some of the acting and dialogue. For the most part, it was good enough, but there are a handful of scenes that were hard to watch. There are also several scenarios that were pretty hard to believe and seemed a bit forced.

In this movie Annie has to spend the summer with her grandpa and she is not happy about since she has her summer planned out of hip hop concerts, internet, parties and friends. Annie stays with her grandpa Donald who hasn't cleaned his house in a while and eats TV dinners. Annie takes his boat out and falls out and after that decides to give grandpa a chance. Annie learns to play chess and drives grandpa's car. Annie's mom Carol is mad about it at 1st but after a talk with her dad the whole thing made them closer. In the movie Gregg is sad cuz he lost his wife and daughter but Annie makes him feel better and even restores him into singing at the music fest again after all these years.
